Sergio "Kun" Aguero- The Argentinian hit-man who was signed at the beginning of this year, has set England alight in his first year having scored 20 goals in 31 league games. Aguero has offered City a consistent option all year up top with the likes of Edin Dzeko struggling, and Carlos Tevez falling out of favor for awhile. The lively forward has also contributed 9 assists, and this season is only a glimpse of what Aguero is capable of offering in the future.
Joe Hart- The Man City and England goalkeeper has had a fine season keeping 13 clean sheets in 28 games, and marshaling City to the fewest goals conceded in the league. The young keeper has been in fine form for a couple of years now, and he has cemented both the first team spots at City and for England down for the foreseeable. Nice to see him get some recognition with the best the league has to offer.
Robin Van Persie- RVP has had one of the most lethal league seasons in history this year amassing a ridiculous 27 goals and 12 assists in 33 league games. The Arsenal forward has single-handedly kept the team together during some rough spells this year and I am certain when I say they wouldn't be in third without him. The departure of Fabregas at the beginning of the season led to Van Persie being named captain, and he has fully embraced the role leading by example for the Gunners.
Wayne Rooney- "The White Pele" may have had his most complete and well rounded season in a United shirt this year, helping them push for a title repeat. His early season performances in the center of the park after being asked to drop back by Ferguson because of injuries, are just a testament to what a great player he is. Throw in 24 goals, a number of them absolutely massive, and 4 assists in 30 games and Rooney has been an absolute joy to watch.
David Silva- Last but not least, the little Spaniard who has been orchestrating the Man City tempo for most of the year. If this award had been given after 10 games, Silva would have run away with it, but over the course of the season Silva has simmered down quite a bit. Unlucky, due to the fact that he has to compete with so many other high profile players for touches on the ball, but Silva has still totaled 6 goals and 13 assists this year. A great player who has found a way to impact the English game with his own style of play.
